Bristol casino hiring

Bristol casino hiring is now underway as Hard Rock officials ready for the opening of the first legal casino in Virginia.

Hard Rock Casino and Resort Bristol is slated for a temporary casino opening sometime in mid-2022. Then, the full resort will debut later on.

But as construction continues on the $400 million project, job listings are starting to pop up.

And if you want one of the thousands of new Virginia casino jobs that will become available in the next few years, here’s your first chance.

Bristol casino hiring for many departments

Hard Rock Bristol, which will be located on the Virginia-Tennessee border, will be the western-most VA casino. Officials have also worked diligently to ensure the casino has another designation: first Virginia casino to open.

So far, Bristol is on track to open before similar projects in Danville, Norfolk and Portsmouth.

Officials are outfitting the former Bristol Mall, which has been empty since 2017, to accommodate Hard Rock Casino and Resort Bristol.

They expect the temporary casino to open in the first or second quarter of this year. After that Q1 and Q2 debut, the full resort will open at a later date, likely in 2023.

In addition to 2,000 temporary construction jobs, Bristol casino officials expect to hire 600 full-time employees for the first iteration of the casino. Once the full resort opens, it’s expected to have 2,000 full-time jobs total, in addition to 1,500 indirect jobs.

As Hard Rock essentially starts from scratch with the casino’s operations, officials need employees for virtually all departments.

From gaming to security to entertainment, the job postings will be plentiful. And the hiring folks have already posted the first ones.

Hard Rock Bristol’s plan for casino jobs

Hard Rock officials expect to pay an average salary of $46,500 during its Bristol casino hiring spree.

That’s well above the regional average, so there should be plenty of interest in the positions.

As of Monday, officials had posted these Hard Rock Casino and Resort Bristol jobs. As you can see, there’s some variety:

  • Dealer for table games
  • HR specialist
  • Security shift manager
  • Manager of compliance
  • Executive chef
  • VP of food and beverage
  • IT director
  • VP of finance
  • VP of marketing

If you’re interested, Bristol casino officials are also hosting two upcoming events that are worth checking out:

  • Vendor info session: Feb. 4 from 9-11 a.m.
  • Job info session: Feb 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Other Virginia casinos will begin announcing their hiring plans in the coming months.
