Portsmouth Virginia Casino Has Plenty On The Menu

There’s no reason to go hungry when the Virginia casino in Portsmouth opens its doors in early 2023. Rivers Casino Portsmouth officials recently gave the public an update on dining options.

Rivers Casino hosted the sneak peek from the casino’s temporary office. CEO Roy Corby showcased seven food and drink options.

What to eat at the Virginia Casino in Portsmouth

• BetRivers Sportsbook will provide bar food, craft beer and cocktails. Customers can relax as they watch their bet outcomes on wall-to-wall TVs.
• Admiral’s Steak and Seafood will offer high-end dining. Look for prime meat and fresh seafood on the menu. That’s because Rivers Casino Portsmouth is owned by Rush Street Gaming (RSG). The company is known for having steakhouses at each of its casinos.
• TopGolf Swing Suite is a golf simulator. Servers will stop by to take orders for drinks and bar food there. In addition to food and golf, Swing Suite offers a variety of multi-sport gaming options. Look for baseball and hockey in case golf isn’t your thing.
• Mian is a made-to-order Chinese food restaurant. It boasts quick service.
• Crossings Cafe is a sit-down restaurant. Look for a menu filled with American cuisine.
• Slice Pizzeria is an ideal spot for hungry guests to grab a quick slice.
• Starbucks will keep guests caffeinated. It’s a great stop for anyone who needs a quick pick me up.

Rivers plans to hire about 1,300 employees to help operate the casino. Next up is a job fair on Wednesday, Sept. 28 to meet with interested candidates.

The casino even offers free training at its Table Games Dealer School. Students earn certification at the end of the eight-week program. Students don’t need experience to join the classes either.

Rivers Casino Portsmouth won’t have a temporary casino

Some companies start with temporary casinos because they can go up quickly and earn money right away. It builds customer loyalty as well.

But that won’t be the case at the Virginia casino in Portsmouth. Rivers will not apply for a gaming license to open a temporary casino in the city. Work continues on the $300 million venue instead.

Rivers Casino Portsmouth will instead put all its efforts toward keeping construction plans on track.
