BetRivers Sportsbook Debuting In Virginia On Wednesday
According to an official announcement from Rush Street Interactive, the parent company of BetRivers Sportsbook, the sportsbook made its debut in Virginia on Wednesday.
BetRivers joins DraftKings, FanDuel in VA
Virginia will soon welcome its third sportsbook operator. FanDuel Sportsbook made its debut on January 21 in collaboration with the Washington Football Team. Shortly after, on the third day, DraftKings Sportsbook also commenced accepting bets.
On Tuesday, RSI obtained a permit from the Virginia Lottery, the governing body for sports betting and casino gambling in VA. BetRivers was given approval as both a sports-betting permit holder and supplier by officials.
The $300 million Rivers Portsmouth Casino Resort is set to be launched in Portsmouth, Virginia, following a successful voter referendum in November. Notably, BetRivers is the first sportsbook in the state to establish a partnership with a land-based casino.
When it officially opens in 2024, the casino-resort will feature a physical sportsbook.
