The upcoming opening of the Danville casino is confirmed for next month. On April 26, Caesars Virginia successfully obtained its operating license from the Virginia Lottery Board. This approval ensures a temporary casino will be ready to welcome visitors by mid-May.

“We are extremely grateful for the overwhelming support and cooperation we have received, particularly from the Danville community and its surrounding areas,” expressed Chris Albrecht, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Danville Casino and Caesars Virginia. “The inauguration of the Danville Casino marks a significant milestone for us, and we eagerly anticipate the commencement of hosting guests on May 15.”

According to Kelly T. Gee, the Executive Director of the Virginia Lottery, reaching the current stage of obtaining a temporary location for the Virginia casino involved a lengthy process. The department and legal team meticulously conducted thorough background checks and carefully scrutinized the casino’s application.

“All the vendors and employees, in addition to Caesars Virginia, are encompassed in these investigations.”

If the time frame is approved by the Virginia Lottery, the temporary casino will open its doors on May 15 at 10 a.m.
